Samina Mushtaq Khan, hailing from downtown area of Srinagar, Jammu and

Kashmir, has been brought up in a middle class family. Although coming from a

conservative society she never gave up on her dreams. She is a library Science

Graduate and has been fond of books.

• It was from 2014 onwards which sparked in her the zest for writing as she quoted

‘I started writing with desperation and in return words started healing me’. ‘I

start making friends with paper and pen and in these two alleys of mine I found

my escape’.

She said she had never craving of being recognized, all she wanted is to

transform my apathy and emotions in words that could resonate with each and

every broken soul, and could heal him up somehow. For her, writing a poem is a

soul soother a balm that relaxes the scars of her heart.

• Her book has received a good acclaim from all sects of the society and was

ushered with so much of love. Recently her book has been nominated for CLA

and Aaghaaz 2020 awards.

Let them bleed

For after healing

You won't be tolerating

The same pain

And you will be a healthy

Human being

So what?

You are vulnerable

But you are a kind heart!

Let those lights glow bright

Let it fade the darkness away

It was a Chaos so far

Let it settle and be at peace

Agonies and depressions

Oh people you have been living

Let you shine Your heart

With the glory of your being

You are not meant to spread hatred

And blow wars

Shun away the ego and desire of powers

Let you keep the child in you alive

Stop being a devil and at least for a while!

Tips / suggestions for aspiring authors

• I'm privileged enough to share my experience as an Author with all of my

audience and other aspiring authors too. The biggest hurdle is the start, once you

overcome the fear of going on with it or let it be, you're half successful.

• Publishing is the last step as an author should first go on with all the content and

the audience he/she is catering to. The taste, the mood and the jamming of a

reader and the writer. Once all of this is taken care of, everything else falls into

place on its own.
