IFC’s Global Internship Program (GIP) offers highly inspired individuals a great opportunity to experience the mission and work of IFC and the World Bank Group at large, and be part of the private sector development institution. biggest in the world. Selected interns will be offered short-term temporary contracts with IFC that can begin in May and end on October 31, 2021. The GIP inspires individuals to bring new perspectives and innovative ideas to IFC’s work while enhancing their skills in a diverse and very stimulating environment.
Global Interns are hired for a minimum period of four weeks between May and October to work on specific projects in Washington, D.C. or at one of IFC’s country or regional offices. The vast majority of opportunities posted are open to virtual participation. The vacancy list will be clear where otherwise.
The GIP receives around 1500 applications each year, of which candidates are shortlisted for departmental interviews. Shortlisted GIP candidates are hired and paid directly by interested departments around the world, based on their business needs and the candidate’s particular profile. Operational assignments cover various areas of work, such as participation in sector-specific market mapping, investment proposal reviews, financial modeling and analysis, portfolio management, upstream work, and advisory services activities. Other assignments can cover a variety of activities that incorporate and support departments.
After a thorough evaluation process at the end of the internship, successful GIP interns are encouraged to apply to the WBG Young Professionals Program if they meet the application requirements, or to any other full-time opportunity available after graduation.
