Paid Video Competition 2021 EAS Futures Show your Editing Skills

The PEMSEA EAS futures video competition for the youth is open till the first of September. PEMSEA believes in the need to involve youth in the protection and future of our shared seas. Therefore, with the cooperation of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and RO Korea, PEMSEA is hosting sessions of regional competitions to build interest and awareness of the youth.

The PEMSEA competition focuses on showcasing the understanding the youth possess of their oceans. In addition, this competition will encourage the creativity and firmness shared through the video.

Youth can use this platform to share their knowledge, plans, and understanding. This competition aims to highlight the best practices and local marine actions of youth and the local issues or challenges of the oceans. As a result, young people will be more engaged in marine life and oceans for their betterment.

Here are more details about the EAS Futures Video Competition

Themes/TOPICS

The EAS futures video competition is based on the theme of strengthening the oceans. Therefore, competitor’s video must contain the following:

Ocean and coasts as a source of food and living,

Ocean and coasts as a source of habitat and ecosystems,

Protecting and safeguarding coastal and shore biodiversity,

Portraying responsible and maintainable tourism,

Addressing marine and riverine pollution,

Addressing coastal alteration to climate change.

Deadline is September 1, 2021

Eligibility Criteria :

Contestants can be from any country.

The competition is open to high school students, university students, and amateurs.

Contestants must not be over the age of 30.

Submission must be an original video filmed in any of these countries: Brunei, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, RO Korea, Japan, DPR Korea, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Timor-Leste, Thailand, or Vietnam.

Benefits :

EAS futures video competition winners will receive the following prize:

1st prize: USD 750

2nd prize: USD 350

3rd prize: USD 200

Other details :

Specification for EAS futures video competition 

Only a single entry per person or team is allowed.

All members of a team must fall under the same eligibility category.

All participants of a team must be credited.

Video must be of 3 to 5 minutes.

No copying is allowed; the entire video must be original.

The video should mainly consist of clips taken within the past year.

Video must be related to strengthening/sustaining the oceans.

Video must be linked with one or more of the sub-themes mentioned above.

A creative video will be preferred; there is no limit to the structure of the video. For example, it could be a mini-documentary, series, interviews, or telling a story.

Video must be of a maximum of 300 words explaining the topic and where it was filmed.

The candidates may not have won any other contest over this video.

Video must not have been published before, whether for news, advertising, or else.

All information must be sent in English. In addition, the video must be in English or have English subtitles.

The video should not feature any person, group, or organization without their permission.

By submitting the video, the participants ensure that all the necessary permissions are acquired.
