Eligibility Criteria :

Here are the eligibility criteria for the FAO scholarship for international students:

  1. Applicants must be from any of the eligible countries. 
  2. The academic record must be excellent.
  3. English proficiency certificate is mandatory.
  4. Applicants should be motivated.
  5. Applicants must be in good health condition.
  6. Applicants should not be over the age of 30 (under 30 students will be preferred).

  1. Complete the application form.
  2. Updated CV/resume.

  5. Copy of relevant pages of the passport (expiry date, passport number, visa).

  7. Statement of interest. 
  8. Health certificate issued by the doctor.

Application Process:

  1. Applicants are required to submit their application/dossier for the FAO scholarship program online via email to REU-Scholarship@fao.org. 
  2. All documents should be in English. Make sure your documents are duly translated into English to avoid being disqualified. Each document must be saved with a name. 
  3. The selection process is divided into two phases.
  4. Phase one is the pre-screening phase. Applicants will be screened and their applications will be forwarded to the ministry of Agriculture of Hungary. The applications will be sent to the universities chosen by the applicant. Make sure your files are submitted with a name; otherwise, your application will not proceed further.
  5. Applicants who make it to phase 2 may be asked to take an examination, either oral or written. The universities will further run the selection process for FAO scholarship according to their criteria. The university will inform each selected applicant. 
  6. The universities will select students without any involvement from FAO; the selected applicants’ list will be shared with the Ministry of Agriculture.
  7. The deadline for application submission is February 28, 2022.
