Meet Touqeer Ashraf, who is attempting to revive the Kashmiri language. When pages failed to get enough attention from readers, especially from the youth, Touqeer adopted the path of the visual arts to reach out to larger audiences.

Touqeer Ashraf from the Pulwama area of South Kashmir's hamlet Goosu. I graduated early from Govt Degree College Pulwama with a Bsc. In an era wherein English and Urdu are the dominant languages, I'm utilising social media to promote Kashmiri. My journey with Keashur Praw started in November 2021.

My affinity for the Kashmiri dialect helped me overcome numerous obstacles on my quest.My message to the young generation is that they should do something which will benefit both culture and oneself.Not everything can be saved for fun; we must also undertake some significant priorities.

India has 22 languages, spoken by 96.71% of the population, and over 19,500 dialects, according to the Census 2011. In spite of this, English largely continues to dominate the web for the second largest internet user base in the world.

As per a study by KPMG and Google, Indian language internet user base is currently growing at a CAGR of 18%, as compared to 3% growth of English users. Further, 75% of India’s active internet users are going to access the web in Indian languages, surpassing the English user base by 2021. The report also states that Hindi internet users are going to outgrow the English user base, with Marathi and Bengali being the other two Indic languages to drive growthand here we must push kashmiri language in this competition.

Another report, by Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) and Nielsen estimated that India has over 71 million children, in the age group of 5-11 years of age, that access the internet using devices of family members.
