The Wallonia-Brussels International Excellence Grants Programme (IN WBI) enables Wallonia-Brussels Federation universities to host international researchers for postdoctoral studies or research programmes. At the postdoctoral level, this programme offers both long-term scholarships, which are renewable once and have a minimum duration of one year, and short-term scholarships, which vary from one to three months and are non-renewable.

- In monetary terms
- Monthly payment of 2.120 euros covers living expenses, housing, instructional materials, and domestic transport; Wallonia-Brussels International (WBI) will cover foreign travel costs (one round trip for the duration of the programme);
- WBI provides "healthcare" insurance to non-EU fellows; WBI is in charge of "repatriation aid" insurance (only for long-term scholarships).

- Researchers from any country holding a doctorate from a particular foreign university who seek to participate in a postdoctoral programme organised or supported by the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.
- Doctorate degree is necessary for the level of study.
