Individuals are invited to apply for a Humboldt Research Fellowship in Germany for the years 2023-24. This fellowship programme is open to international applicants from all over the world and provides a fully-funded postdoctoral position based on academic excellence. The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation will cover all fellowship expenses. This program's research duration ranges from 6 to 24 months.
The Federal Republic of Germany established the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in 1953, named after the renowned researcher and explorer Alexander von Humboldt (1769-1859). Over the years, more than 26,000 Humboldtians from 140 different countries have applied for this fully funded research fellowship. There are 49 Nobel laureates among these fellows, demonstrating the prestigious nature of this programme. The fellowship provides foreign researchers with the opportunity to excel in their fields, paving the way to prestigious awards such as the Nobel Prize. Every year, the foundation provides over 700 researchers with free travel to Germany.

Eligibility Criteria
The Humboldt Research Fellowship 2023-24 has specific eligibility requirements, which include the following:
- The candidate must have received a Ph.D., C.Sc., or a comparable degree at least four years prior to the application deadline.
- Interested German nationals must have spent a minimum of five years regularly living and working abroad with permanent residency status.
- While proficiency in the German language is advantageous, all applicants must have a sufficient level of English proficiency.
- International researchers who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievements in their respective fields are eligible for the fellowship.
