Scholarships for Undergraduate Students
Students can apply for the programmes either before or during the admissions period.
- Scholarship Programme of the Korean Government (KGSP)
- Tuition exemption for 8 semesters: full tuition fee
- Monthly living expenses: 900,000 KRW
- One round-trip economy flight
- One-year Korean language training fee
- Scholarship for Overseas Koreans
- Full tuition exemption for up to eight semesters (when certain conditions are met)
- Living expenses: 900,000 KRW per month (maximum) for 8 semesters
- airfare for one round-trip economy flight
- Fee waiver for Korean language training at the Language Education Institute for 6 months
- Subscription to medical insurance (private company)
Graduate Scholarships
President Fellowship Programme at SNU (SPF)
- Tuition fee: full tuition exemption for up to six semesters
- Monthly living expenses: 1,500,000 KRW 2,000,000 KRW for 34 years
- A round-trip ticket (economy class on the GTS system)
- Korean language instruction (evening classes only during regular semesters)
- Reimbursement of National Health Insurance Premiums
Graduate Scholarship for Outstanding International Students (GSFS)
- Tuition fee: full tuition exemption for up to four semesters
- Living expenses: 500,000 KRW per month (varies depending on recipients' majors).
Scholarship for Overseas Koreans
- Full tuition exemption for up to four semesters (when certain conditions are met)
- Monthly living expenses: 900,000 KRW 4 semesters (at most)
- airfare for one round-trip economy flight
- Fee waiver for Korean language training at the Language Education Institute for 6 months
- Subscription to medical insurance (private company)
Scholarship Programme of the Korean Government (KGSP/GKS)
- Tuition exemption for four semesters for Master's programmes and six semesters for Ph. D programmes.
- Monthly living expenses: 1,000,000 KRW
- One round-trip economy flight
- Fee for one year of Korean language training * Korean language training is required, and students who do not achieve TOPIK grade 3 within a year are not eligible to enter the degree programme.
- Other expenses include medical insurance, a research fund, thesis printing costs, a settlement, and return costs.
