The application period for the Global Korea Scholarship for Undergraduate Degree Programs in 2024 is currently open. The GKS Korean Government Undergraduate Scholarship 2024 is a government scholarship that is entirely supported by the Korean government. IELTS is not required for this scholarship. The GKS Undergraduate grant will be awarded to about 262 students. You can apply for both the Embassy Track and the University Track.
You must apply through the Korean Embassy in the country where you have citizenship (embassy track). In the University track, you can apply straight to one of the specified universities. There are 86 seats earmarked for the embassy track and 176 seats reserved for the university track, for a total of 262 scholarships.
GKS Scholarship Benefits
The GKS is a fully funded scholarship program by the Korean government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Korea, making it the Korean government's largest scholarship program to date.

Duration of Program
- Associate Degree: 1 year of Korean language study, 23 years of degree study
- Undergraduate Degree: 1 year of Korean language study, 46 years of degree study
Eligibility Criteria
- Except for Korean citizens, citizens of all countries are eligible to apply.
- Applicants with a bachelor's degree are not eligible to apply.
- Applicants with associate degrees are only eligible to apply to bachelor's programs.
- A CGPA of at least 2.64 out of 4, 2.80 out of 4.3, 2.91 out of 4.5, or 3.23 out of 5.0 is required.
- The score percentile must be at least 80%.
- You must be under the age of 25.
- You must be in excellent health and have no criminal background.

- TOPIK is required, as well as an English proficiency certificate or English Language Proficiency from a previous institute.
