The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships 2024 are now accepting applications. The Vanier Canada scholarship is also known as the Canadian Government graduate student scholarship. Eligibility

1. The qualifications must be met by both the applicant and the nominated university.
2. International students, Canadian citizens, and Canadian permanent residents are all eligible to apply.
3. They must be full-time students at Canadian schools and pursuing a PhD for the first time.
4. Furthermore, under the Vainer CGS universities quota, they must be nominated by just one institute/university.
5. Applicants must intend to undertake a full-time PhD degree during the summer semester or academic year after the results release.
6. The award is open to applicants pursuing combined professional degree programs such as MD/PhD, DVM/PhD, or JD/PhD. Only the PhD program, however, will be supported.
7. By 1 May 2024, students must have completed no more than twenty months of full-time study in a PhD program (for a doctoral program that will begin in 2024).
8. By 1 May 2024, applicants must have completed no more than 32 months of full-time study in a PhD program (for doctoral programs enrolled in a combined graduate research program that began right following a bachelor's degree without getting a master's degree). The time period is computed from the moment the student formally registers for the joint graduate program.
9. They are not eligible for any other prize, grant, or support for the PhD program.
10. Applicants must also have a substantial research background or component in their research plan.
11. Applicants must have earned a first-class grade point average in the previous two years of full-time study.
12. Furthermore, candidates must not be receiving or have received any other fellowship or award from any of the three organizations listed below. NSERC , CIHR and SSHRC.

4. Transcripts from educational institutions.
5. Personal Leadership Statement of no more than two pages in English or 2.5 pages in French.
6. Two examples of leadership Letters of no more than two pages.
7. A research proposal of no more than two pages in English or 2.5 pages in French is required.
8. Maximum of five pages for project references.
9. Contributions to research should be no more than one page long.
10. A maximum of one page of proof of extraordinary circumstances (optional).  
11. There were two referee evaluations. 
12. Other application materials of part-time status or a maximum of one page of MD/PhD program timetable (optional). 

Application Process:

1. Applicants cannot apply directly to Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships 2024; they must first select an institution/university.
2. Applicants should begin by researching Canadian institutions to ensure Vanier's CGS quota for the institute of their choosing; the applicant must then be recommended for the scholarship by the institution. 
3. Following the first step, begin the Research Net application form and complete all Vanier Canada graduate scholarship application criteria.
4. The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships 2024 application form is only available in French or English.
5. Check the format in which the needed papers will be attached and follow all of the procedures that are required. Check the form again to ensure that nothing has been overlooked.
6. Apply to the nominating institute before the internal deadline expires.
7. Nominations will be forwarded to the Secretariat by the nominating institute/university.
8. Only one institute can propose a student; if many institutes want to nominate the same person, they must pick one institute, as multiple nominations for the same person would be denied.
9. If the application is chosen for scholarship consideration, the applicant will get an automatic email and notification from ResearchNet.
10. The nominee is responsible for contacting the institute for application and selection information.
