Eligibility
- All candidates must be under the age of 35 on September 1, 2024.
- Applicants must be nationals of a non-EU/EEA country, Switzerland, or Surinam, and must fulfill the requirements for an entrance visa and residency in the Netherlands.
- Applicants must not be dual nationals of an EU/EEA country.
- They must have applied for admission to a full-time master's degree at Maastricht University for the academic year 2024-2025 (participating programs will be announced in October 2023).
- Applicants must also meet the particular admission requirements of the UM master's program to which they have applied.
- They must not have previously enrolled in a higher education program in the Netherlands. Applicants who have participated in exchange programs in the Netherlands may apply.
- Furthermore, candidates must have had great academic outcomes in previous schooling programs, as evidenced by their most recent grade transcript or by formal certification of academic distinction.
- Remember that this scholarship is incredibly competitive, with only 2% of candidates being chosen to win it; hence, having a solid overall profile is essential.
Benefits

Application Process:
- Students must register/enroll in one of Maastricht University's scholarship-eligible master's programs. Students can register for the course by visiting the official website.
- Students must be offered conditional admission to the master's program.
- If a program demands a handling charge or an application cost, students are responsible for paying it. The handling cost will not be covered by the scholarship.
- You will be assigned a student ID number after applying through Studielink. That student ID will be required to submit the scholarship application.
- Log in to your UM account and complete the scholarship application form (available in October 2023).
- Upload the documents in.doc,.docx, or PDF format and submit your scholarship application.
- Please keep in mind that students may only apply once; verify that all of your documentation and referee contact information are valid.
- The Maastricht University NL scholarship application period will commence in October 2023; however, candidates must first apply for the university's master's program before applying for the scholarship.
