Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must have a master's degree or an equivalent certification in natural and applied sciences, with a concentration in one of the previously mentioned subjects.
  • Fellows must be no older than 35 years old at the time of application.
  • All candidates must be permanent residents and citizens of a Southern developing nation. Visit the official website at the link provided at the end for a comprehensive list.

  • Candidates from Science and Technology Lagging Countries (STLC) and women are given special consideration.
  • Applicants must not have a visa for either temporary or permanent residency in Turkey or any other developed nation.
  • Individuals who are already residents of Turkey are ineligible to apply for the TWAS fellowship.
  • Applicants must commit to giving the TWAS-TUBITAK Postgraduate Fellowship their undivided attention and refrain from taking on extra responsibilities throughout its length.
  • They should have no past experience earning a fellowship through this program.
  • Similarly, following conclusion of the fellowship, all fellows are required to return to their home country.
  • Applicants must additionally provide an official acceptance letter from an appropriate department, institution, or laboratory affiliated with a Turkish public or private university, or from TÜBTAK Research Centers and Institutes.

How to Apply for the TWAS-TUBITAK Postgraduate Fellowship?
  • Apply online via the TUBITAK online application system via TYBS, which is available via the link at the bottom.
  • Candidates must first build a profile on the TUBITAK Researcher Information System (ARBIS) platform before submitting the online application form to TUBITAK via TYBS.
  • Furthermore, before beginning the online application via TYBS, it is critical that the information regarding researchers and academic advisors in Turkey be current and up to date inside the Researcher Information System (ARBIS).
  • Only submissions submitted through the official online application site will be accepted by TUBITAK and TWAS.
  • Candidates may apply to just one TWAS program each year. As a result, candidates will be unable to visit another university. There may be some exceptions.
