Brief explanation: 

York University provides Global Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarships and International Entrance Scholarships of Distinction to international candidates who wish to pursue a full-time undergraduate degree at the University of York.

Subject of study:

Any undergraduate degree program offered by the following faculties that begins in the Fall 2020 term: Arts, Media, Performance & Design; Environmental Studies; Education; Glendon; Health; Lassonde School of Engineering; Liberal Arts & Professional Studies; Science; or the Schulich School of Business.

The number of awards is:

1. President's International Excellence Scholarship: 20
2. Tentanda Via Prize: 15
3. Award for Global Leader of Tomorrow: 2

Scholarship worth and inclusions:

1. President's International Scholarship of Excellence: $180,000 (four years at $45,000).
2. Tentanda Via Award: $120,000 ($30,000 divided by four years).
3. Global Leader of Tomorrow Award: $80,000 ($20,000 divided by four years).
4. All of the aforementioned scholarships are renewable for three years of full-time undergraduate study, as long as strong academic standing is maintained in each academic year.

Eligibility:

You must fulfill ALL of the following criteria to be considered for the Major International Scholarships:

1. Must be an international student with a Study Permit to study in Canada.
2. Applicants must have applied to an undergraduate degree program at York beginning in Fall 2024.
3. Applicants must have applied to York immediately from high school, no more than two years after graduation, and have no previous university or college courses (Tentanda Via Award not eligible).
4. An outstanding academic record with a minimum "A" average or equivalent is required.
5. Leadership must be proven via community service or success in the arts, athletics, or other areas of individual achievement.
6. One letter of recommendation or any supporting papers, as necessary, must be uploaded.
7. All needed papers must be marked as "Received" in the York application (MyFile) before February 15, 2024 at 11:59:59pm Eastern Time.
8.  Applicants must complete and submit the online International Student Scholarship Application by February 15, 2024, at 11:59:59 p.m. Eastern Time.

Instructions for use:

You must apply online by completing the International Student Scholarship & Award Application form. You will need a 9-digit York reference number, which you will obtain within 5 business days of applying to York. You must apply for admission to York far ahead of the scholarship application deadline of February 15, 2024.
