The applications for the Australia Awards Scholarships 2025 are now open. The Australia Awards scholarship is a fully financed, distinguished scholarship program for undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degree programs. According to the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), approximately 1,141 long-term Australia Awards scholarships were granted to persons for the academic year 2024.

Australia is widely known for offering a high number of scholarships to international students. Such as RTP Scholarships, Graduate Research Scholarships, and now AAS. The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade sets the application process, requirements, course of study, and study level. Each country will go through a unique process. ELIGIBILITY:

To qualify for an Australia Awards Scholarship, you must:
  1. Be a citizen of one of the participating countries.
  2. Meet the academic criteria for your selected course of study.
  3. Make a strong commitment to your home country's development.
  4. Meet the requirements imposed by your country.
  5. Scholars are required to depart Australia for at least two years after completing their scholarships.

  2. Study programs must relate to your country's priority areas for development. These are listed on the participating country profiles.
  1. What can't I study?
  2. Australia Awards are not available for training in areas related to flying aircraft, nuclear technology or military training.
  1. Where can I study?
  2. You can study at any participating Australian institution.
  1. Can I apply for both an Australia Awards Scholarship and a Destination Australia Scholarship?
  2. You may apply for other scholarships however recipients of Australia Awards Scholarships cannot hold any other Australian government scholarship at the same time.
  1. Can I apply for an award if I'm intending to migrate or if I have permanent residency?
  2. No. Australia Awards are not available to intending migrants or those who have Australian permanent residency. Awardees are required to leave Australia for a minimum of two years after completing their scholarship. Failure to do so will result in the awardee incurring a debt for the total accrued cost of their award.
