The Aga Khan Foundation Scholarship allows brilliant students from underdeveloped nations who have no other means of funding their studies to pursue postgraduate education. The Aga Khan Scholarship was founded in 1969 to help poor students from underprivileged nations gain access to postgraduate education. Requirements:
  1. To be eligible, applicants must have excellent academic records, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent training/professional experience, demonstrate genuine financial need, create a reliable funding plan, be admitted to a reputable postgraduate institution, and have strong leadership potential, professional experience, extracurricular/entrepreneurial achievements, and volunteer contributions.
  2. Note that preference is given to young professionals under the age of 30.
Benefit's:
  1. The Foundation solely aids students with tuition and living expenses.
  2. Funding is only granted for the first two years of education, after which students are obliged to seek other sources of help.
  3. AKF ISP prioritizes Master's programmes, but will also evaluate PhD applicants. Local/regional universities and remote learning courses are eligible for ISP financing if the course quality is maintained.
  4. The scholarship gives you with half of the funds as a loan; students are asked to repay the other half to ensure the program's continuation.
  5. The five-year payback term begins six months following the Aga Khan Foundation-funded study period.
Selection Process:
  1. Applicants should expect to be questioned by local Scholarship Committees about their financial condition, academic performance, extracurricular activities, and professional goals.
  2. The annual Scholarship Selection Meeting is held in late June or early July, and the Aga Khan Foundation tells all students of the results of their applications immediately after.
