SBW Berlin Scholarships are now available for young, committed international talent to pursue a university degree or apprenticeship in Berlin. The DAAD SBW Berlin Scholarship will finance tuition, fully furnished housing, and living expenses for chosen applicants. In certain situations, the scholarship may include vocational training in Berlin or Potsdam. 

This page will provide you with all of the information you need to successfully apply and benefit from the DAAD SBW Berlin Scholarship.
SBW Berlin Scholarships are now available to young, committed international talent wishing to pursue a university degree or apprenticeship in Berlin. In some cases, the scholarship may cover vocational training in Berlin or Potsdam.

Requirements:
  1. Be between 18 and 30 years old.
  2. Applicants must have professional or volunteer experience in the non-profit sector and want to work in their home country for at least 18 months following graduation.
  3. Be able to demonstrate a relatively low net income
  4. Have no first-degree relatives who live permanently in Germany.
  5. Be able to verify that they did not remain in Germany for more than 18 months before to the application.
  6. Have average grades equivalent to a German grade point average of at least 2.0.
  7. To apply for a master's degree, applicants must be enrolled at a state-recognized university in Germany or abroad, or have completed the first, second, or third semester.
Benefits:
SBW Berlin covers the scholarship recipients' living expenses. The entire scholarship includes:
  1. The package includes a place in our shared student flats in Berlin, a €6,600 annual cost-of-living allowance, tuition fees, and maybe a travel allowance to and from Berlin.
  2. The help will be offered for a minimum of 30 days and a maximum of 48 months, depending on the average length of study in the discipline you have chosen.
Documents Required:
To apply for the DAAD SBW Berlin Scholarship, candidates must prepare to submit the following documents:
  1. Application Form (fillable PDF or online)
  2. Letter of Motivation (one or two pages)
  3. Please provide your current curriculum vitae and net household income.
  4. Copy of the most recent school or university certificate that shows the grade point average and a grade overview.
  5. Copy of the highest academic degree (high school diploma or university certificate) with the grade point average and a grade overview. 
If available, please include copies of the following documents:
  1. To study at a university in Berlin or Potsdam, you must have certain qualifications.
  2. Required documents include an internationally recognized language certificate for the language of instruction, as well as any previous work, training, apprenticeship, or internship credentials and references.
  3. All have university certificates and records of achievements, both graded and ungraded. We recommend that all applicants send the following additional documents, which are not required.
  4. One or two letters of recommendation from professors, teachers, employers, etc.
  5. Evidence of Net Household Income
