Study in China - The applications are open to apply for the Tianjin Government Scholarship 2024

Tianjin University is currently accepting applications for the Tianjin Government Scholarship 2024 (TGS). The Tianjin Municipal Government in China offers the Tianjin Government Scholarship to international students. All overseas students are eligible to apply for Masters and PhD scholarships for the 2024 intake. Tianjin University is a well-known university in China, ranking 24th according to EduRank.

The TGS Scholarship will cover tuition, a monthly stipend for living expenses, and medical insurance. It is important to note that the Tianjin Government Scholarship program is not the same as the Chinese Government Scholarship. The Tianjin Government Scholarship is available for one year to both prospective and current Tianjin University students. The scholarship will be applied year after year. The master's program lasts 2-3 years, whereas the PhD takes four years. More details are provided below.

Scholarship Value and Scholarship Types

First Prize for Master:

• Tuition: 30000 RMB
• Living allowance: 1700 RMB/month (10 months in total)
• Medical Insurance: 800 RMB

Second Prize for Master:

• Tuition: 30000 RMB

First Prize for PhD:

• Tuition: 38000 RMB
• Living allowance: 2000RMB/month (10 months in total)
• Medical Insurance: 800RMB

Second Prize for PhD:

• Tuition: 38000 RMB

Eligibility criteria

• The application is available to all international students; Chinese nationals are not eligible.
• The applicant must be in good health.
• Applicants for a master's degree program must have a bachelor's degree and be no older than 35.
• Applicants for a PhD must hold a bachelor's degree and be no older than 40 years.
• IELTS/TOEFL is not necessary if the applicant is a native English speaker or has finished an undergraduate/master's degree in English and can provide proof of English Language Proficiency from their university.
