Study Free in Italy - Italian Government (MAECI) Scholarships 2024-2025 Applications are now available for Masters and PhD

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAECI) is happy to announce that applications are now open for the Italian Government (MAECI) Scholarship 2024-25. The MAECI Scholarship is intended for international students and Italian nationals residing abroad. The grant is for students doing Master's and PhD degree programmes at Italian public universities. The Italian government's goal with this scholarship is to promote Italian language and culture. The scholarship is offered to nationals of 139 countries. This year, the list has grown to include many more countries.
The scholarship will be provided for nine months. This grant is intended to provide financial assistance to students who cannot afford the expenses. The scholarship provides a monthly allowance, tuition price reimbursement, and health insurance coverage. Scholarships are available for four different study programmes: Master's Degrees, Courses of Higher Education in Arts, Music, and Dance (AFAM), Ph.D. programmes, and Research under academic supervision. All applications must be filed online via the "Study in Italy" website. More information about the scholarship requirements and application process are provided below.
Financial Coverage:
The MAECI Scholarship includes:
- Not having to pay enrollment and tuition fees.
- Health and medical/accident insurance provided by MAECI.
- A total of 9000 euros given to students, split into 3 payments:
- The first payment is 4500 euros.
- The second payment is 2500 euros.
- The third and last payment is 2000 euros.
Eligibility:
- To apply for a master’s degree, you need to have finished a bachelor’s degree.
- You must be 28 years old or younger when you apply for the master’s program.
- If you're applying for a PhD program, you must be under 30 years old when you apply.
- You must show your English proficiency with an IELTS or another language certificate.
Application Process:
- Apply online on the “Study in Italy” website.
- You don’t need to get admitted to the university first.
- The process for the MAECI scholarship and university admission is different.
- For the MAECI Scholarship, apply through the special online platform by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- After getting the MAECI scholarship, you must also apply for admission to your preferred program at an Italian public university.
