Applications are now open for the Czech Republic Government Scholarship for the 2025/26 academic year. This fully funded scholarship is available to students from developing countries who want to pursue a Master's or PhD degree at Czech public universities. The Czech Republic is a beautiful country, known for its rich history and stunning architecture, with Prague as its capital. As a member of the European Union, students in the Czech Republic can also travel to other EU countries.
Since the 1950s, over 20,000 foreign students have studied in the Czech Republic with the help of this scholarship. The Master's degree typically lasts 2 to 3 years, while the PhD program takes 3 to 4 years. Scholarships are available for programs taught in both English and Czech. There is also funding available for a one-year Czech language course. More details are provided below.
Study Areas
Applicants can only apply for specific fields of study, which include:
- Economy
- Business, administration, and law
- Natural sciences, mathematics, and statistics
- Information and communication technologies (ICTs)
- Engineering, manufacturing, and construction
- Agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and veterinary
- Security services
- Interdisciplinary programs, including health and social care, and improving living conditions.
Financial Support
- Study Costs: Covered by the scholarship.
- Living Expenses: CZK 16,000 per month for Master's students and CZK 17,000 per month for PhD students. This amount is used by students to pay for accommodation, food, and public transport.
- Travel Expenses: The cost of traveling to and from the Czech Republic is either covered by the organization that nominated the student or must be paid by the student themselves.
Eligibility Criteria for the Czech Republic Government Scholarship 2025/26
- The scholarship is available to citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova, and Zambia.
- Citizens from other countries are not eligible to apply.
- EU citizens and Czech Republic citizens are not eligible to apply.
- Applicants for the Master's program must have a Bachelor's degree.
- Applicants for the PhD program must have both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree.
