The Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) works with the Agency for Science, Technology & Research (A*STAR) and five Singaporean universities. You can apply for the SINGA Scholarship for the August 2025 intake. This scholarship is for those who want to pursue PhD or EngD degrees at NTU, NUS, SUTD, SMU, or SIT. It is open to applicants from all around the world and covers all expenses.

You don't need GRE, IELTS, TOEFL, SAT, or GATE scores when you apply, but you might need them later depending on the university. If you are called for an interview, your English speaking and writing skills will be assessed. The scholarship lasts for four years. More details about SINGA are provided below.

Number of Scholarships: 240 scholarships are available each year.

University Names and Degrees Offered:

  1. NUS: PhD
  2. NTU: PhD
  3. SMU: PhD, EngD
  4. SUTD: PhD, EngD
  5. SIT: EngD

Financial Benefits: Recipients of the Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) will receive:

  1. Full coverage of tuition fees
  2. A monthly stipend of S$2,200, which can increase to S$2,700 after passing the Qualifying Examination
  3. A one-time airfare grant of up to S$1,500
  4. A one-time settling-in allowance of S$1,000

Study Areas: Biomedical Sciences, Computing and Information Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Physical Sciences

Eligibility Criteria: To qualify for SINGA, you must:

  1. Be an international student
  2. Have good skills in written and spoken English
  3. Get positive reports from academic referees (recommendation letters)
  4. There is no age limit
  5. Have a valid passport (you need to upload a copy of it)

Required Documents: All documents must be submitted online.

  1. Passport
  2. Bachelor's and/or Master's academic transcripts
  3. Two recommendation letters (submitted online by referees)
  4. Motivation letter
  5. IELTS/TOEFL scores (optional)
  6. No application fee
