The University of Florida offers a Graduate Scholarship every year for international students who want to pursue graduate studies in the USA. This scholarship covers tuition costs, provides a $25,000 annual living stipend, and includes health insurance.In this post, we'll explain the scholarship details and how to apply if you're interested and eligible.

Scholarship Details 
The Department of Psychology offers this scholarship and gets over 350 applications each year for its Ph.D. programs. Each incoming class has about 15 to 25 students.
The admissions process focuses on specific areas of specialization (behavior analysis, behavioral and cognitive neurosciences, counseling, developmental, social). Faculty members in these areas review applications and recommend candidates for admission and funding to a department-wide committee, which makes the final decision on funding offers.

Eligibility
To be considered for the University of Florida Scholarship 2024, admissions are based on these factors:
Undergraduate preparation:
  1. At least one course in statistics
  2. At least one course in each of these Psychology areas:
    1. Biological bases (e.g., physiology, sensory, comparative)
    2. Developmental changes (e.g., child/adolescent, lifespan)
    3. Learning and cognition (e.g., behavioral analysis, cognitive processes)
    4. Sociocultural/individual differences (e.g., social, personality, abnormal)
  1. Recent classes had an average GPA of 3.8 for the last two years. Applicants with an overall GPA below 3.0 are considered only in special cases.
  2. Research experience
  3. Relevant volunteer/work experience
  4. Letters of recommendation
Benifits 
  1. All first-year students receive funding, and funding is available for up to 5 years for students who are making good progress.
  2. Assistantships are given based on teaching ability, research and technology skills, or other special expertise.
  3. Graduate teaching and research assistants usually have their tuition costs waived, both in-state and out-of-state.
  4. The stipend is $25,000 for a 12-month appointment, plus a tuition waiver for each of the 4 years.
