Eligibility:

  1. Citizenship: Must be from a Chevening-eligible country. The scholarship is open to students from 160 countries; check if your country is eligible.

  3. Return Requirement: Must return to your home country for at least 2 years after completing the scholarship.
  4. Education: Must have a bachelor's degree equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honors degree in the UK.
  5. Work Experience: Must have two years of work experience, equal to 2,800 hours.
  6. University Applications: Apply to three eligible UK university courses and receive an unconditional offer for one.

Ineligibility:

  1. Dual British citizens (except for citizens of British Overseas Territories or those with BN(O) status applying from Hong Kong).
  2. Individuals with refugee status in an ineligible country.
  3. Current or former employees, or relatives of employees (since July 2018) of His Majesty’s Government or associated departments.
  4. Employees, former employees, or relatives of employees of Chevening Partner organizations (unless not applying for a Chevening Partner Award from their own organization).
  5. Those who have previously studied in the UK are not eligible.
