One of the top scholarships in Japan is offered by the University of Tokyo, one of the country's leading universities. This is the University of Tokyo MEXT Scholarship 2025, fully funded by Japan's Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT). The scholarship is available for students who want to pursue a Master's or PhD degree starting in October 2025. The University of Tokyo has 15 graduate schools with various departments. IELTS is not required if your previous education was in English. More details are provided below.

Schools and Departments

• Graduate School of Science: Accepting applications for the MEXT Scholarship 2025. The school has five departments: Physics, Astronomy, Earth and Planetary Science, Chemistry, and Biological Sciences.

Eligibility Criteria

• Open to all nationalities (except Japanese).
• Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum CGPA of 2.30.
• Must be born on or after April 2, 1989.
• Meet the English language and university admission requirements.
